Science Advisory Panel
The MPA Science Advisory Panel (SAP) is an independent body that was established in December 2009 to support the four regional projects in the MCZ selection process. It will offer objective scientific assessment of site proposals, and independent advice to Ministers. The eight panel members have been drawn from a diverse range of marine scientific disciplines in order to ensure a balanced and comprehensive skill set. Working arrangements for the SAP, and the way in which it will co-ordinate with the Regional MCZ projects are currently being developed.
