Regional Project Board
The Balanced Seas Project Board is responsible for the delivery of the project and consists of representatives of each of the partner organisations. An observer from Defra is present at the quarterly Board meetings, and other members may be invited on to the Board as the Board sees fit.
The Project Board is not a stakeholder group and is not involved in recommending Marine Conservation Zones. It has overall legal, financial and management responsibility for the project, and ensures that the project is co-ordinated and communicated nationally, regionally and locally. The Board has no role in the design or selection of sites but will ensure that the selection process is open and inclusive.
