Interviews with Liaison Officers

The Project Liaison Officers are interviewing sea users about their activities throughout the project area. An interview usually lasts between one and three hours, during which time a sea user is guided through a structured questionnaire, and provides information on  a digital mapping to show where and how they use the sea.  Responses are collated by sector, which builds a picture of how the sector uses the region.

Data collection started in April 2010 and by mid-June the Liaison Officers had conducted over 150 interviews with dive clubs, sailing clubs, activity centres and commercial fishing groups.

Balanced Seas has three Liaison Officers and two assistant Liaison Officers based in London, Portsmouth and Lewes.

They can interview individuals or visit clubs or societies and can also provide more detailed information about the Project.
